Parque Nacional Natural Tayrona
Tayrona National Park, in northern Colombia, is a large protected area covering the foothills of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta as they meet the Caribbean coast. It’s known for its palm-shaded coves, coastal lagoons, rainforest and rich biodiversity. At its heart, the Pueblito ruins are an archaeological site accessed via forest trails, with terraces and structures built by the Tayrona civilization.
Acuario Mundo Marino
The Rodadero Aquarium and Museum of the Sea is a public aquarium and maritime museum located in the Inca Inca inlet in front of El Rodadero beach in Santa Marta. It was inaugurated in 1965 by Captain Francisco Ospina Navia. The aquarium is part of the National Museum Network of Colombia and part of ACOPAZOA, the Colombian affiliate of the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums. Accessible mainly by boat, the aquarium has 13 pools with direct connection to the Caribbean Sea, and 15 glass aquariums containing more than 805 animals including sharks, sea turtles, dolphins, sea lions, crustaceans, fish and seabirds, 98% of which are native to the area.
Ciudad Perdida
Ciudad Perdida is the archaeological site of an ancient city in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta of Colombia, within the jurisdiction of the municipality of Santa Marta. This city is believed to have been founded about 800 AD. If so, Ciudad Perdida predates Machu Picchu by about 650 years.
